The 2015 IEEE Workshop on Environmental, Energy and Structural Monitoring Systems will be held at the University of Trento (Trento, Italy), from July 9 till July 10, 2015 and it will take place in the Department of Sociology, Via Verdi 26 - Trento.
The Workshop will take place right after the 4th International Summer School on Smart Materials & Structures (http://events.unitn.it/en/smartstructures2015), that will take place in Trento on July 6-9, 2015.
Workshop aims
The growing strategic importance of environmental, energy, and structural monitoring boosts the need for flexible, effective and innovative solutions for design methods and implementation technologies with strong adaptation and evolution capabilities. This workshop aims to discuss the most recent advances in complex monitoring systems from a cross-disciplinary perspective, encompassing technology, methods and applications, especially concerning, but not limited to, advanced sensors, signal/image processing techniques, patter recognition approaches, systems and applications. Department, researchers and students in industry are encouraged to contribute presentations on either completed research or “work-in-progress” research.
Call for papers
Papers are solicited on all aspects of environmental, energy, and structural monitoring, including the following topics: sensors and instrumentation, signal and image processing, intelligent monitoring systems, software infrastructure, wide-area monitoring, communications in monitoring systems, data security and privacy, fault tolerance, dependability and resilience in monitoring systems, quality of service in monitoring systems, safety in monitoring systems, standardization issues, management and operation of monitoring systems, engineering education on monitoring, environmental monitoring, water and air monitoring, pollution monitoring, agricultural and forest monitoring, energy and electrical power systems monitoring, energy distribution monitoring, oil/gas pipeline monitoring, structural health monitoring, smart structures, infrastructure monitoring, transportation systems monitoring, monitoring for sustainable environments, ethical issues.
The submission of draft papers is due by March 31, 2015; the acceptance or the rejection will be emailed by April 30, 2015. The final manuscript submission and registration is due by May 15, 2015. The early registration is due by May 31, 2015
