The XVII Italian Ornithology Conference will be held in Trento from 11-15th September 2013. The conference will comprise three presentation days, plus one excursion day in Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta. The programme will be composed of sessions, symposia and round tables during which a series of traditional as well as applied ornithological topics will be covered. Effects of global change, alpine ecology, and conservation will be particularly emphasized, together with migration and behavioural ecology.
We are honoured to announce that plenary sessions will host speakers of the calibre of Dr. Raphaël Arlettaz (University of Bern, CH), Dr. Chris Hewson (British Trust for Ornithology, UK) and Dr. Stuart Marsden (Manchester Metropolitan University, UK) who will describe their research on environmental changes, migratory movements and conservation and the major implications of their results.
In addition to the scientific programme, a series of events will take place throughout the course of the conference, such as competitions for the best poster, nature photography and drawing. News on the next CISO-day and our journal Avocetta will be provided during other informal meetings. It will be also possible to enjoy the newly opened MUSE - Science Museum of Trento just inaugurated, close to the conference site, where other activities related to the conference will be held for the general public.
