8th Optoelectronics and Photonics Winter School: Topological Effects in Photonics

Registration has been postponed to 6th of march!

This school aims at introducing students and post-docs with an optics background to the concepts of topological physics.
These ideas were originally developed in quantum condensed matter physics to explain surprising observations such as the integer and fractional quantum Hall effects. In the last years, a growing interest is being devoted to their translation to electromagnetism and optics, with already a number of remarkable experimental achievements.
In addition to theoretical courses on the general theoretical tools, the school will offer dedicated lectures on specific optical systems where such physics can be observed and, possibly, exploited in devices.

Poster Session

During the school, a poster session for the purpose of stimulating discussion and networking will be held. The description of current activity of the students is encouraged. While it is mandatory to submit an abstract at the registration time, it will not undergo any review process and will be accepted as is.
The abstract (in a Word or PDF format) should be sent to topolight2015@unitn.it
The abstract should contain a Title, Author(s) list and Affiliation and the text of max 250 words.

School reception

A reception is being arranged for all participants from Sunday March 15th starting. All school attendees are invited to pass through the reception.
