Summer School on Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine: from molecular and cell biology to tissues and organs repair  

September 19-23, 2011

The aim of the school is to illustrate principles, methodologies and most recent applications of materials to Regenerative Medicine and in particular to Tissue Engineering.

The school is directed to PhD students and post-docs with a background in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The maximum number of participants is provisionally set to 50. Preference will be given to applicants submitting communications.

The school is jointly organized by the Department of Materials Engineering and Industrial Technologies and the BIOtech Interdepartment Research Center of the University of Trento, in collaboration with the European Institute of Excellence on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

Grants and Awards:

  1. 12 grants, 400 euro each will be assigned to Doctorate students presenting an oral or poster communication on the basis of their Curriculum and on the Advisor recommendation letter.
  2. 12 awards, 400 euro each, will be attributed to the best oral communications. Scientific content, quality of the presentation and synthesis skills will be evaluated.


All participants applying for grant/awards should submit a one page abstract before June 15th accompanied for 1) by CV and the advisor’s recommendation letter. Participants and/or communications can be awarded only once.
For administrative rules and to avoid taxation, grants/awards cannot be waged to the “winners”, but will be used to pay the hotel for their accommodation/dinner expenses from Sept. 19th to Sept. 23rd.

Oral communications
8 minutes will be allocated for oral communications, with no more than 10 slides totally.

Posters
Posters should be printed on A3 sheets.

Registration

The registration fee is 350,00 Euro, reduced to 250,00 Euros for participants from institutions members of the European Institute of Excellence on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. Registration covers participation, coffee breaks and lunches for Sept. 20, 21 and 22.
Participants are asked to register before June 15th.

Riva del Garda is a picturesque little town located at the northern end of Lake Garda, about 90 km north of Verona and 180 west of Milan airports.
The airport of Verona is well connected with the many cities in Europe.
A free of charge bus transportation will be provided from/to the airport of Verona at the following times:

  • Sept. 19th from Verona to Riva del Garda at 13,30.  
  • Sept. 23rd from Riva del Garda to Verona at 15.00.
