The University of Trento has awarded fifteen Honorary Degrees and appointed eight Honorary Professors, since 1962.
Every year, starting from 2005, the University prizes the best graduates and PhD graduates.

Honorary Degrees

Honorary Degrees are awarded to people who have been prominent for their merits in a specific field of study. The Honorary Degree is proposed by a Department/Centre and is approved by the governing bodies of the University and by the Italian Ministry for Education, Research and University. The Honorary Degree is valid for all legal purposes. The most significant moments of the Awarding Ceremony are the laudatio of the graduating person, held by a professor of the Department, followed by the Lectio Magistralis, held by the graduate after the awarding of the title.
