Lodging contribution for Doctoral students

 

The University of Trento allocates doctoral students € 100/month as a contribution to lodging expenses. The Autonomous Province of Trento may allocate an extra €100/ month. This further amount will automatically be paid by the University of Trento in case of available resources.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1) to be enrolled in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of a UNITN Doctoral Programme (including “co-tutèlle de thèse” programmes) or in the 1st extension year. Doctoral students who submitted the request for final exam are NOT eligible for the contribution.

2) to have the official “residenza” in a town considered  “fuori sede” (see Chart 1 to the “Provisions to award accommodation contribution” at the bottom of this page).

The following categories are also considered “fuori sede”:
 - foreign students whose family of origin live abroad;
 - Italian students who have moved their official residence to the Province of Trento AFTER enrolling in the Doctoral School;

3) to have a lodging contract in the town where the doctoral school has its seat or in one of the “Commuter” towns (see the Table 1 to the Provisions to award lodging contribution). The contract must be officially registered by the “Agenzia delle Entrate”.

 

HOW THE CONTRIBUTION IS PAID:
The contribution for the whole academic year  is paid in two installments:
1st installment: within the end of May (covering the number  of months from the beginning of the academic year until April)
2nd installment: within the end of November (covering the number  of months from May until the end of the academic year)

IMPORTANT: The contribution is allocated for the months actually covered by the  lodging contract or for fractions above 15 days within a given month.  Doctoral students enrolled in the 1st year, can apply for the contribution starting from the date of enrolment (unless they were still enrolled in other UNITN courses at the time).

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE CONTRIBUTION:

In order to apply students can:

- hand in;

- post;

- email;

- fax

the necessary paperwork within the deadline mentioned further down in the page.

 

WHERE  TO APPLY FOR THE CONTRIBUTION:

According to the Doctoral School you are attending, the lodging contribution must be submitted to the relevant Doctorate Office: please carefully check address, contact details and opening hours in the “Contact” box at the bottom of this page.

PAPERWORK TO SUBMIT:

1) The “Lodging contribution request form” (see “Download” box at the bottom of this page);
2) a copy of the official lodging contract (which must have been registered by  “Agenzia delle Entrate”);

3) For long-term contracts, please attach either the receipt of the last payment made to “Agenzia delle Entrate” through the so called F23 Form, or the declaration of the landlord about opting for the so called “cedolare secca”;

4) The fiscal “Deduction form” duly filled in.

IMPORTANT:

5) if you are posting, emailing or faxing the application, please attach a copy of your ID document;

6) if your name is not mentioned on the official contract, you must submit:

- a copy of the contract;

- a declaration by the landlord stating the beginning and ending dates of your stay, as well as the amount of the monthly rent (see “Facsimile n.2” at the bottom of this page);

- copy of F23 model registered by “Agenzia delle Entrate” stating the taking-over of the contract (in Italian “Integrazione/Subentro”).

 

ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED PAPERWORK HAS TO BE SUBMITTED EACH YEAR, EVEN IN CASE OF LONG-TERM CONTRACTS.

 

DEADLINES:

 

FOR THE LODING CONTRIBUTION REQUEST – ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013: March 12th, 2013.

The required paperwork must to be submitted starting from January 21st  2013 until March 12th 2013.

 

 

ONLY FOR  ADDITIONS TO THE APPLICATION (e.g. new contract): September 12th, 2013.

 

·         Doctoral students who do not have a contract which covers the whole academic year and who manage to extend the contract or sign a new one after March 12th 2013, must submit the following documents within September 12th 2013:

- the new lodging contract registered at “Agenzia delle Entrate”, as well as the notice of cancellation of the previous contract;

or

- renewal of the previous contract already submitted within the 1st deadline, registered by “Agenzia delle Entrate”.

 

·         Doctoral students who have a long-term contract must submit within September 12th 2013:

- copy of F23 Form (annual payment to “Agenzia delle Entrate”)

or

- declaration of the landlord about opting for the so called “cedolare secca”.

Students failing to submit these documents, will not be allocated the 2nd installment of the contribution.

 

·         Doctoral students who signed a contract after the 1st deadline (March 12th 2013) must submit all the required documents  for the lodging contribution  (see paragraph “PAPERWORK TO SUBMIT”) within September 12th, 2013.

 

 

Doctoral students are required to communicate any change concerning the data submitted in the “Deduction Form” to the relevant Doctorate Office (please carefully check address, contact details and opening hours in the “Contact” box at the bottom of this page).
They are furthermore required to inform the office about the advanced termination of their lodging contract.
