The research-company front office (SRI) is a joint office between the University and Trentino Sviluppo spa and aims at encouraging a close collaboration between research and the entrepreneurial system in the Provincia di Trento.
The office’s activities are addressed to those who carry out applied research activities: lecturers and researchers but also Doctoral students and researchers, all scholarship holders for research activities in general, master course students and post-bachelor or post-master students.
These are the main sevices offered divided per area:
• Networking
This area aims at encouraging and keeping in touch with small, medium-sized companies to start collaborations in industrial research projects, studies/technical tests, experiments, product and process innovation; this area also takes care of contacting and supporting collaborations with the Trentino technological district for renewable energy, sustainable construction and territory management; support in using the services offered by national and European networks for technological transfer, especially the EIC network (Euro Info Centre) and the IRC network (Innovation Relay Centres).
• Patents
Analysis of the patent prerequisites for new inventions; information about the timing and costs of patents; general information about the laws for patents (national, community and University); information and assistance about University procedures and forms (deposit communication, proposals for patent assignment) support in the valorisation of the patents thanks to connection with local businesses and through national and transnational channels (IRC European data bank).
• Spin-offs and start-ups
General information about the laws (national and University); information and assistance about University procedures and forms (proposals for spin-offs or start-ups, agreements with the University); guidance in creating an industrial plan (or business plan); information about the prerequisites, modalities, availability of space in local Business Innovation Centres and about the services they supply; contacts with local finance realities to discuss possible financial interventions.
• Financial tools
Assistance in finding adequate financial means (provincial, national, community) to support applied research activities, technological innovation and new companies.
• News
Signalling of events, courses, workshops, initiatives in the field of innovation, of intellectual property, of technological transfer and company creation on the territory or organized by partner networks.
