Living in Trento

The city of Trento has about 115.000 inhabitants. It is a small town, rich of services, thanks to which Trento ranks among the most liveable Italian cities.  The cultural and social life of the city is animated by numerous conferences, meetings, exhibitions. Trento has a strong relation with tradition and history: traditional feasts, typical markets, historic events, international festivals, music, dance and theatre performances take  place over the year. Among others, the Festival of Economics and the Trento FilmFestival Mountain, exploration, adventure.

The presence of the University gives the town a lively atmosphere. During the week students animate the town both in the faculties and in the city centre.
Tridentum -  Roman Trento - was founded during the 1st century B.C. City of arts, history and meeting point between the Italian and the Central European culture, Trento was a Roman city and the city of the Council.

Trento, today an autonomous Province, has a history of long Episcopal regency. From then on, the town has been able to constantly renovate and become one of the most interesting cities of art, renowned for the quality of its artistic and touristic offer.

Surrounded by a gorgeous natural framework, Trentino offers a wide range of opportunities for excursions and sports, both to mountain lovers and to people more interested in the discovery of castles, archaeological sites, sanctuaries and the beautiful lakes in the Dolomites. This impressive mountain chain was recently included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
