Chairman of the board of directors
Innocenzo Cipolletta has been chairman of the University of Trento since March 2003.
He is also chairman of the UBS Italia SIM, member of the board of directors of Indesit, Poltrona Frau, Ceramiche Piemme, iGuzzini and Laterza-Agorà.
He was chairman of the Ferrovie dello Stato from 2006 to 2010, chairman of the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore from 2004 to 2007 and chairman of UBS Corporate Finance Italy from 2002 to 2006. He was also chairman of the Marzotto from 2000 to 2003 and general manager of Confindustria from 1990 to 2000. He has also carried out administrative and managerial offices for OCSE (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) and for ICSO (National Institute for Conjuncture Studies).
He was professor at the University La Sapienza in Rome at the Faculty of statistic sciences, at the LUISS- Guido Carli in Rome, at the Cesare Alfieri in Florence and at the University of Reggio Calabria.
He is a board member of the Censis Foundation, of the Music for Rome Foundation and of the Lars Magnus Ericsson Foundation. He takes part, among the others, in the scientific committees of “Italian Economics” of the “Rivista di Politica Economica” and of the “Nord Est Foundation”.
He is a member of non-profit organizations such as the Italian Statistical Society, the Italian Society of Economists, the Italian Society of Economics, Demography and Statistics, the Adriano Olivetti Institute of studies for economic and business management (ISTAO) and of the Institute for International Affairs (IAI).
He is also a free lance journalist and an economic commentator for newspapers; he has signed many scientific articles and books.
Innocenzo Cipolletta was born in Rome on December 8th 1941 and graduated in statistic sciences at the University of Rome in 1965.
Innocenzo Cipolletta is Knight of the Grand Cross (this is a nomination of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic).
