Research

CeRiN’s clinical and basic science research activities is focused on understanding the clinical nature and the neurological basis of cognitive disorders caused by brain damage.  The aims of CeRiN research are to find and test new rehabilitation treatments, and to gain insights into the mechanisms of brain function.  A variety of neurological disorders are investigated, such as stroke, traumatic injury, infection and neurodegenerative disease.  The most modern techniques in cognitive neuroscience, brain imaging and computational neuroscience available through the resources of CIMeC, will be applied.  The CeRiN research environment is open and multidisciplinary, giving researchers with expertise in different areas of cognition and rehabilitation access to the facilities and resources provided.
