TICME - 2011, Trento Innovation Conferences on Materials Engineering

2nd Meeting: Advances in Materials for Energy and Environment
Venue:
Buonconsiglio Castle, Trento, Italy - Sala delle Marangonerie

12-14 December, 2011

Conference Scope

Energy and environment are the major problems of the society as a whole. For this reason advanced materials play a major role for developing energy management and environment control systems.

The scope of the conference is to put together a selected group of leading scientists to exchange ideas and perspectives on the current status of the research on materials involved in the production of such systems.

The overall aim of the conference is therefore to provide a forum for a broad discussion on recent achievements in some topics at the cutting-edge of research.

Conference Topics

  • Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion: fuel cells, batteries, hydrogen storage
  • Materials for Solar Energy: organic and inorganic, photovoltaics, photocatalysis, solar thermal
  • Advanced Materials for Energy Saving: buildings and transportation
  • Materials for Environmental Sensors: gases, chemicals, nanopowders, radiation

Buonconsiglio Castle, Trento.

The Buonconsiglio Castle is a medieval castle located in the center of the town. The Castle originated from a fortified building erected in the 13th century next to the city's walls. It acted first as meeting point of the local community and then became the seat of the Prince-Bishops of Trento until the secularisation of the Principality (1802). Presently hosts the Provincial Gallery of Arts.
