The educational PhD program makes the most of the multi-disciplinary competences of the teaching body involved with the doctoral students and with the accessibility of the Laboratories of the CIBIO. The laboratories are equipped with the most advanced instruments. Lessons are taught in English.
Each student is assisted by a tutor chose among the teaching body. The Tutor is responsible for introducing the Doctoral students to the research activity of the Program and undertakes to mentor the students throughout their individual study plan. As well as the Tutor, the advisor assists the students with their thesis.
The main areas of interest rely on the presence at the University of laboratories that carry-out research activities in different fields of biological sciences at CIBIO. There are also important teaching and research contributions from the departments of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics and Communication Technology.
The Doctoral School also benefits from interactions with regional foundations (e.g. FBK-Bruno Kessler Foundation, Edmund Mach Foundation FEM-CRI), and a bioinformatic research centre (COSBI-The Microsoft Research University of Trento) which carry-out research activities and technological development.
The areas of interest include:
- Biochemistry
