For the admission to the 2nd year, the following requisites are essential:
- a constant participation to the educational activities proposed by the Doctorate School; mandatory attendance of 80% of the total hours for each course and 15 seminars per year. If the student cannot attend the minimum requested, the Committee can approve with warning the admission to the following year and, if necessary, oblige the student to attend the courses again.
- to obtain a minimum of 14 credits per year, corresponding to 60 educatinal hours attended (1 credit every 6 hours), 15 seminars per year (2 credits), 2 Journal clubs attended (1 credit), 2 Progress reports attended (1 credit).
- to obtain a fulfilling evaluation that the teachers and the tutor have to provide within the end of the first year. The letter of evaluation must be concise, clear and precise.
For the admission to the 3rd year, the following requirements are essential:
- a constant participation to the educational activities proposed by the Doctorate School; mandatory attendance of 80% of the total hours for each course and 15 seminars per year. If the student cannot attend the minimum requested, the Committee can approve with warning the admission to the following year and, if necessary, oblige the student to attend the courses again.
- to obtain a minimum of 14 credits per year, corresponding to 60 educatinal hours attended (1 credit every 6 hours), 15 seminars per year (2 credits), 2 Journal clubs attended (1 credit), 2 Progress reports attended (1 credit).
- to obtain a fulfilling evaluation which the teachers and the tutor have to provide within the end of the second year.
Based on the above information, the Doctoral School Committee suggests one of the following scores:
- Approved: the student can access to the second year.
- Approved with warning: the student may continue but shortcomings have been highlighted in the preparation or research project.
- Not approved: further review and evaluation are needed.
The student who needs a serious revision of the research project based of comments received from both the advisor or tutor, is invited to a subsequent discussion in front of Doctoral School Committee and in the presence of the advisor and tutor.
