Aims of the School

The doctoral students are taught to achieve professional capabilities to undertake research, design and production responsabilities in advanced research and industrial sectors.

This is achieved by:

• the development innovative and technically and economically feasible solutions to problems related to production and use of materials
• the assimilation of practical and theoretical knowledge to design, develop, produce, modify and apply materials that have specific qualities
• the evaluation and definition of the behaviour and reliability of materials in respect to the applications

Overall, the objective of the school is to train a professional figure with a comprehensive background in engineering applicable to research and technology, allowing him/her to work comfortably and autonomously in research centres and in industry.
