The School of International Studies at the University of Trento
Globalisation transcends not only national borders but also the traditional borders between disciplines, professions and tasks. Whatever the activities they are engaged in, from institution and capacity-building in failed states to local and regional development policies, governance professionals and academics need to be able to draw on a broad multidisciplinary background in order to effectively face the challenges confronting them.
The Graduate School of International Studies was founded in June 2001 as a cooperative venture of the Faculties of Economics, Humanities, Law and Sociology in order to provide top class post-graduate teaching and research of such a multidisciplinary and international character. Currently the School offers a one-year professional Masters Programme in Peace-Building and Conflict Management, a two-year Masters Programme in European and International Studies, and a three-year PhD programme in International Studies.
The School can draw on a multinational staff with extensive international teaching and research experience employing the whole gamut of teaching methods from the conventional to the innovative.
