IMPORTANT : We remind all new non-European students who bought the Italian health system insurance for 2013 (149,77 euro), that they need to activate such policies by going to the Local Health Board (viale Verona in Trento and via S. Giovanni Bosco in Rovereto) starting from January 2013.
In order to help you filling out the necessary forms, the Welcome Office organizes a common informative session:
- On January 22nd at 9.00 a.m. – School of Economics and Management in via Inama 5 - room 1F
The Welcome Office staff will just help you with the forms. You will then have to go to the Local Health Board by yourself.

Is your home health insurance valid also in Italy?

If you are entitled to health insurance in your country of origin and your home country has signed bilateral agreements or conventions with Italy (such as Argentina, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brasil, Croatia, Kosovo, FYROM, Montenegro, Serbia, Tunisia, Vojvodina, etc.) BEFORE leaving you should get the specific form for the extension of the coverage from your country to Italy.

Once in Italy, this paper must be submitted to the Local Health Board in Trentot which will issue a confirmation of health coverage in Italy.
If you need more information on bilateral agreements and conventions between Italy and other countries, please visit the following webpage (available only in Italian).

Attention: if the health service from your country does not entitle you to be covered also in Italy, ask the Health Organisation of your home country to provide you with a paper stating this, so that you are then entitled to register with the Italian Health Service once you are in Italy by paying € 149.77 per calendar year.

If you do not have this declaration a self declaration will be accepted (See below).

If you have double citizenship (Italian) and you are going to transfer your permanent residence to Italy, you can benefit for free enrolment to the Italian Health Service.
