Doctoral courses

In order to be admitted to a Doctoral courses, candidates must hold an academic qualification equivalent to the Italian “laurea specialistica/magistrale” (Master’s degree) and they must pass a public selection.

EU and non-EU citizens who hold a foreign academic qualification which is not officially recognized as equivalent to the Italian “laurea specialistica/magistrale”, must submit the following documents along with the attachments required:

  • the degree certificate or self-certification (according to Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28.12.2000 concerning EU citizens) concerning the qualification achieved;
  • the English translation of the degree certificate;
  • a signed list of the exams taken and of the grades achieved.

These documents will allow the Doctoral School Committee to evaluate whether the candidate’s qualification is suitable for admittance to the selection procedure.

Successful non-EU citizens holding a qualification that has not been obtained in Italy, and the successful EU citizens having a qualification obtained in a non-EU country must hand in the declaration of value ("Dichiarazione di Valore") and the degree certificate with the list of all exams taken and grades, translated and certified by the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country of the university that issued the degree, in order carry out the enrolment.
