EU citizens

Since the enforcement of decree nr. 30, dated February 6^th 2007 regarding the "Application of the Directive 2004/38/CE about the right of EU citizens and their relatives to circulate freely and stay in member states" (read below), starting from April 11^th 2007, you are allowed to move without restrictions throughout Italy without applying for the stay permit.

During your first 3 months of stay you have no requirements to fulfill, provided you have a valid identity document.
