Science without Borders

Science without Borders is a project supported by the Brazilian government, aimed at fostering International mobility of Brazilian students and researchers in highly qualified academic and research centers around the World through a scholarship scheme and at attracting young researchers and internationally recognized research leaders to Brazil.
Italy is strongly supporting the program and shares its objectives of consolidating and expanding international scientific collaboration through exchanges and mobility, of enhancing the fruitful interaction between academia, the business sector and civil society.
Eleven Universities (among which the University of Trento) selected by the Brazilian Government among the most qualified Italian Institutions within the research areas of interest for the program, the National Research Council, one public research centre and the Research centres of Telecom Italia are currently involved in the program. The University of Bologna hosts the technical secretariat of this Italian Network of Institutions.

The program is focused in areas of strong interest for innovation, technology and industrial development (i.e. natural and life sciences, engineering, ICT, creative industries) and will ensure the establishment of new links and projects, besides international partnerships.

For the academic year 2012/2013 Trento is offering places for Brazilian Phd candidates in the following areas:

  • Computer Science;
  • Environmental Engineering;
  • Materials Engineering;
  • Physics.
