Undergraduate course in Food Industry Engineering
Italian food industry is one of the best known Made in Italy, and remains one of the strategic fields of Italian economy growth.
In this expanding field, great expertise and specialization are required because of the short shelf-life of most food product and because of the quality and hygiene certificates necessary for export and sale proceedings It is a recent industry, as the transformation from family management production to industrial management production occurred not so long time ago. This production area requires always updated technology because of the very high quality standards expected in the market, and because of the controls imposed by national and European rules.
A food engineer is an industrial engineer able to handle industrial plants and all production proceedings. Our undergraduate program of food technology integrates principles and concepts in the physical, biological and engineering sciences and applies them to the analysis, processing, production, preparation, evaluation and storage of foods, food ingredients and alcohol beverages.
