The Intellectual Property Committee is appointed to  make decisions on the management of the University's intellectual property and to define its policies on the protection and valorization of intellectual property.

Under Article 11 of the University regulation on Intellectual Property, adopted by Rector's Decree no. 539 of 22 July 2020 and amended by Rector's Decree no. 338 of 8 April 2024 (visit the Protection and valorization of intellectual property page for the full text), the Committee:

  • decides on the first filing of the patent application following receipt of the duly completed and signed Invention Description Form;
  • decides on keeping the patent alive, on its extension to other countries and its nationalization, in light of the University guidelines for the management of patents;
  • establishes if licensing and assignment agreements for intangible assets satisfy the University requirements, and evaluates the offers received based on the criteria established in the public notice;   
  • decides on agreements concerning the economic exploitation of intangible assets (patents, copyrights);
  • drafts criteria, guidelines and procedures on the protection and valorization of intellectual property;
  • decides on changes to the documents in use.
