Climate smart agriculture: challenges and opportunities for sustainable food production

EXPO - biglietti studenti
Conference on “Food, agriculture and climate: three strongly interrelated factors, with global effects. Expo 2015 offers numerous opportunities of dialogue and analysis.

The event will deal with an idea which is rapidly taking strength at international level.
How can agriculture meet the increasing need for food, above all in the most disadvantaged countries? How can agriculture adapt to the challenges deriving from climate change?

Agriculture can develop new cultivation techniques, use new technologies, attempting the cultivation and breeding of non-conventional species that can better adapt to the changing climate and the food needs, and adopting sustainable approaches compatible with a respectful use of the planet’s resources.

In other words, we need to develop a climatically smart agriculture, capable to transform the current challenges into new opportunities.

Auditorium of Palazzo Italia - Expo - Milan - 9 October 2015, at 2.30 pm

The conference is organised by the University of Trento and the Autonomous Province of Trento in cooperation with the Institute of Biometeorology of the Italian National Research Council.
