LLP-Lifelong Learning Programme: Presenting European Projects

Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013 is the most important European programme which funds education and training. The Call to present new LLP projects is issued annually with deadlines which vary according to the sectorial programme. The Lifelong Learning Programme is an umbrella programme which combines various initiatives in the following way:

Sectorial Programmes

COMENIUS for schools (first phase of education)

This programme is aimed at all those involved in primary education – pupils, parents’ associations, non-governmental organisations, teacher training institutes, universities and all other primary educators.

ERASMUS for higher education

This is aimed at students who wish to study and work abroad, higher education teaching staff and enterprise staff who would like to teach abroad, and technical and non-teaching staff who are looking for training abroad. It supports collaboration between higher education institutions through intensive programmes, multilateral networks and projects and the involvement of enterprises.

LEONARDO DA VINCI for vocational education and training

This programme links policies and practices in International Fellowship Programmes (IFP). The projects involve individual mobility as well as cooperation between European partners to make training more attractive, and improve the quality and results of the systems and procedures in vocational education and training.

GRUNDTVIG for adult education

This is aimed at those involved in all forms of adult education which are not necessarily of a professional nature as well as at institutions and organisations which provide or make adult education more accessible  through formal, non-formal or informal learning.

Transversal Programme

This programme focuses on trans–sectorial areas, namely political co-operation, innovative learning, languages, the development of course content based on ICT and the dissemination and exploitation of results.

Jean Monnet Action

The Jean Monnet Action stimulates teaching, and research on European  integration in higher education institutions worldwide.
