Studying abroad

The University of Trento offers a wide range of international exchange opportunities to students, at all levels of studies (bachelor, master and doctorate). The University management firmly believes that part of university education undertaken abroad, even though partially, can improve the student educational growth. Thanks to these opportunities, students will acquire a remarkable complex experience and knowledge which will be important for a competitive curriculum at national, European and international level. Taking part in one or more international experiences does not mean “wasting time” at all! Hereafter a list of the variety of opportunities, while further details are available by clicking the keys on the left side of the page.

LLP-Erasmus Programme

It enables students to spend a period of study from minimum three months up to twelve months,  in one of the 27 countries of the European Union or  in one of the 3 EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or in Turkey. The hosting Universities are more than 350, but this number changes from Faculty to Faculty. Students can take exams making use of the language of the foreign country and acquire ECTS credits that are then be recognized in Trento on their return; or they can do an internship in a company or enterprise located in one of the listed countries (Erasmus Placement). The internship will be then recognized in one’s own training plan.

LLP-Leonardo da Vinci Programme

It enables graduate students to spend periods abroad of about 6 months in a company located in one of the 27 countries of the EU or of the EFTA countries, acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in a professional training programme at early stage. Trento is involved in a project related to environment and tourism.

They can also do research in Labs.

Such joint curricula allow students to attend a part of their academic career at the University of Trento (minimum one to two years) and a part abroad (one to two years), obtaining at the end of the course of study both the Italian study degree title and the foreign one. At present there are 26 programs already started in all Faculties, with Austrian, Chinese, Croatian, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and US-Universities).

EU-Atlantis Programme

This programme aims at supporting mobility towards the United States to develop academic study plans leading to the achievement of a double degree title.

EU-Canada Programme

It gives the possibility to study and take exams, or carry out research projects and do research for a few months in Canada.

Erasmus Mundus Programme

This Programme enables students to attend a part of their curriculum in one of the many non-European partner and associated Universities.
