University of Ljubljana

It established in 1919, today includes 22  faculties, three academies and one college. As the largest university in Slovenia, it attracts 50% of annual national research funds, contributes to 60% of all academic output and provides all the country’s PhD graduates.

UL has participated in programmes such as the 6th and 7th Framework, Tempus and Lifelong Learning, Erasmus Mundus Joint Master and Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window.  Due to the increasing share of foreign lecturers up to 10% and modules taught in English, a growing number of foreign students has attended programmes at the UL, especially in the fields of social sciences.

The Faculty of Social Sciences, involved in CoDe, is also a partner of Slovenia’s most prestigious research centre on local development, the Institute of Social Sciences (ISS). Since 2007, UL has been ranked 124th on the European Universities Ranking (WEBOMETRICS) and it has a distinguished ranking at the Times Ranking (THES-QA).
