University of Regensburg

It includes 11 faculties, offering a wide range of academic subjects. Almost all faculties (few exceptions are e.g. Medicine and Pharmacy) have modularised their Bachelor and Master programmes. Its commitment to the academic and research internationalization is illustrated by: an increasing number of courses and modules taught in English; the participation in 30 EU cooperation projects; 75% of its students having a chance to study at one of 100 partner universities; and the presence of 1,400 foreign students coming from 90 different countries.

Due to its geographical location, the Universität Regensburg has always considered itself a bridge between East and West and accordingly aims to strengthen the dialogue of cultures. With the Europaeum, it has set up an interdisciplinary centre for research and teaching on all aspects pertaining to Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe (BAYHOST), which is a service centre for all Bavarian institutions of higher education, is also housed at the Universität Regensburg.

 The University Library offers more than 3.4 million books, and scientific research materials, accessible also online. Students have access to about 700 computers in any one of the 28 computer labs on campus provided by the university's computer centre.

UR promotes research and teaching activities through a cross-disciplinary approach, offering good chances for scientific innovation.
