7th Optoelectronics and photonics Winter School - Physics and applications of optical resonators

The seek for compact and scalable optical and photonic components has triggered the development of a rich spectrum of micro- and nano-scale optical devices. Among these, the optical resonators have an important role as they offer possibility to confine electromagnetic radiation within ultra-small modal volumes and thus enhance dramatically light-matter interactions. For this reason, high-Q resonators have been employed in a number of fundamental investigations and applications, covering a vast spectrum of studies in  telecommunications , sensing, quantum photonics,  lasing and nonlinear optics.

The School will give to young students an excellent opportunity to attend a series of lectures on optical micro-/nano-resonator devices. The lectures will be held by  internationally recognized experts and will cover both fundamental aspects and applications. The students will have the opportunity to interact efficiently, exchange their knowledge, and importantly, discuss and learn directly from international experts in the field.

Poster Session
During the school, a poster session for the purpose of stimulating discussion and networking will be held. The description of current activity of the students is encouraged. While it is mandatory to submit an abstract at the registration time, it will not undergo any review process and will be accepted as is.
The abstract (in a Word or PDF format) should be sent to poster-ores-school@fbk.eu.
The abstract should contain a Title, Author(s) list and Affiliation and the text of max 250 words.

School reception
A reception is being arranged for all participants from Saturday March 16th starting. All school attendees are invited to pass through the reception.

The School will be held at Hotel al Sorriso (Levico Terme, Trento). The Hotel is located by the lakeshore of Levico Terme and is surrounded by a 20,000-sq. m private park. In addition, a 700-sq. m wellness centre will be at the disposition of school participants. The windows of the indoor swimming-pool allow to admire the beautiful park and the nearby lake.
