Deadline and admission procedures

The Summer School targets MA, PhD students and young researchers. Candidates must have a strong interest and some background in the School’s topics and be fluent both in spoken and written English, as it is the working language of the Summer School.
The number of participants is limited to 30.
Ten scholarships will be granted to particularly deserving students coming from one of the Countries included in the official list of Developing Countries made by the World Bank. These students have to state their disadvantaged status and motivate their request for a grant to the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence.
All participants will receive a Certificate which may be used to acquire academic credits in agreement with home institutions. Moreover, they have to prepare a one-page presentation of their paper or research project that will be presented on a poster in one evening session.
The organisation declines any responsibility in case of illness or accidents.

Completed applications (Personal data, Referee’s data, CV and abstract of a paper) can be submitted in one of the following three ways:

  • Postal mail to: Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence, University of Trento, Via Prati, 2 - 38100 Trento, Italy.
  • E-mail to: poloeuropeo@soc.unitn.it
  • An application form is soon available

Whichever method you choose, the application should contain the following information:

  • Personal data: name, surname, gender, nationality, date and place of birth;
  • Contact numbers: telephone, fax, e-mail;
  • Resume/CV: academic qualifications, current professional or academic position;
  • Abstract of the paper-research project;
  • Name, title, address, contact numbers and e-mail address of at least one referee who is familiar with the candidate’s academic or professional position;
  • For those who are in the position to request a scholarship, please state if you wish to be considered for it and communicate your estate by email or by fax to the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence.

A committee of Trento and Innsbruck University professors will select the candidates on the basis of CVs, the eight paper-givers evaluating the abstracts and those who will be granted with a scholarship on the basis of merits and personal estate.
