Crossing borders with history. Experiences and perspectives of the teaching of history
Particolare del mese di settembre, Ciclo dei mesi di Torre Aquila, Castello del Buonconsiglio di Trento
Trento, November 23-24, 2012
Does a specific teaching of history in border areas exist? What is it about? How does it work? What are the problems and the suggested solutions?
Starting from these issues and from the experimental teaching, in which many teachers from Trentino, Sudtirolo and Tirolo del Nord took part, this convention wants to stimulate a deep and up-to-date investigation on the teaching of history in border areas, concerning the teaching methods and teaching tools, as well as a comparison between experimental results and consolidated teaching practices.
The idea of the Convention stems from the belief that, through history teaching, border areas can become laboratories of democratic coexistence and education to European citizenship, in a period characterized by the weakening of national States and of the boundaries between them.
Abstracts should be submitted by the end of June. In the sidebar you find a link to the online submission form and the “Call for papers” document for downloading.
