Cecilia The Collegio fostered my capacity to invest on my skills, to enrich every day my knowledge and skills and, above all, to enhance my willingness to target high achievements through hard work

She enrolled in 2011/12 in Historical and Philological-literary Studies and graduated in July 2014. She then enrolled in a master’s course and was accepted in the Collegio again. She is currently attending a Master’s degree course in Philology and literary critics.
My adventure at the Collegio began four years ago and I did not expect this experience to change and influence my life so much. I left my home and I began to be autonomous, thanks to the Collegio, which also fostered my capacity to invest on my skills, to enrich every day my knowledge and skills and, above all, to enhance my willingness to target high achievements through hard work. This is possible not only thanks to the structure of the University, which pays a lot of attention to the students’ needs, but also through the daily interaction with the other pupils of the Collegio, with whom I shared a lot of experiences. Thanks to them I felt integrated in a dynamic and lively environment, where everyone can speak their word and make the difference. What I loved the most was my experience abroad, which is a compulsory step for the students of the Collegio. I had never imagined that I would go to Cambridge to carry out the preliminary research to draft my dissertation for the undergraduate programme. Needless to say, my stay in an English-speaking country increased my maturity and awareness more than I had expected, widening my future opportunities and prompting me into looking “beyond”. I owe a lot to the Collegio and I am very satisfied with my stay here, which was extremely stimulating and exciting, from which I learned a lot and which I will continue to carry out with my usual determination.

Simona The Collegio was a real “springboard” for me

She enrolled in 2011/12 in Historical and Philological-literary Studies and graduated in July 2014. She then enrolled in a master’s course and was accepted in the Collegio again. She is currently attending a Master’s degree course in Philology and literary critics.

She describes her experience

I decided to study in Trento because I wanted to combine a city and university life capable to offer to me the opportunity to get acquainted with an environment which is totally different from where I come from. My approach is oriented at finding the best study and life conditions and the Collegio fully met my needs and desires. When I decided to apply for the selection exam, I was aware that, should I have accessed the Collegio, I would have been required to maintain very high standards in my marks and to meet specific obligations. The Collegio was everything but an obstacle. It encouraged me to meet my objectives, to face new challenges, to make specific choices that I had not expected to take into account.
According to my three-year experience in the Collegio, during which I graduated in Historical and Philological-literary Studies (within the so-called “classic” programme) and I spent six months abroad, I can easily say that the Collegio was a real springboard for me: it provided me with the basis and the necessary support to fully exploit my skills, to carry out increasingly ambitious projects and - why not? - to share them with other pupils of the Collegio, who have now become friends, who were as motivated and interested as me.

Valentina I wish to the Collegio Clesio to continue to grow like is pupils!

She enrolled in the first year of the master’s course in Psychology – Neuroscience programme- in the academic year 2010/2011 and she graduated in September 2012.

She describes her experience

Being selected as a member of the Collegio was the recognition of my engagement during the previous years, and at the same time, a further motivation to continue in the same way. The interdisciplinary lessons and the cultural events, as well as the daily interactions with boys and girls determined to invest on themselves, were amongst the most stimulating elements of my stay in Trento. I spent two years in the Collegio and I had the opportunity to attend the University of Maastricht for 5 months. Explaining how much this experience enriched me would take much more than a few lines. My experience in the Collegio was certainly determining for my university life while attending the master’s course, above all considering that my two main objectives in life have always been: learning and understanding. I therefore take this opportunity to thank three protagonists to whom I owe the most: the University of Trento, the Collegio and the Opera Universitaria. A final remark: I was admitted to the first year of existence of the Collegio. Therefore I could notice that it is evolving and improving every year.

Therefore I wish to the Collegio Bernardo Clesio to continue to grow, like is pupils!

Aurora I expect a very stimulating life and an easy access to the labour market

She enrolled in the first year of the master’s course in Philosophy in the academic year 2010/2011 and she graduated in January 2012.
She loves to read, write and play the piano.

She describes her experience

I come from Trapani (Sicily) and I received a letter of the University of Trento which informed me about the existence of the Collegio Bernardo Clesio. I decided to apply and I took the admission exam, divided into two parts: a written and an oral exam. During the oral interview I noticed that the professors were interested more in the specificity and wide range of interests of the candidates, rather than in their pure “school knowledge”, as well as reasons why they had chosen to enrol in a certain course. Personally, I did not expect to be admitted and therefore the news was even more pleasant for me!
I attended the course in Philosophy of the University of Trento. I met excellent professors and an effective organization. The facilities of the Collegio are effective and the staff is very welcoming. The building where the Collegio is located is an ancient convent and it belongs to the Church of Trento. It was refurbished and adapted to the needs of its pupils and PhDs.
I expect a programme rich in stimulating cultural experiences and - who knows? - an easy access to the labour market.

David Students willing to invest on themselves should certainly apply

He enrolled in the first year of the undergraduate course in Industrial engineering in the academic year 2010/2011 and he graduated in September 2013. Thanks to his brilliant university career and the pro-active approach he demonstrated during his stay in the Collegio, he was reconfirmed as a pupil of the Bernardo Clesio also for his master’s course.

He loves the mountain, mountain-biking, skiing and travelling.

He describes his experience

I was born and I lived in Trento, a wonderful city at the seaside, on the Adriatic Sea. However, I had the opportunity to know and love Trento since when I was a child, when I used to participate in the Summer English Camps on Monte Bondone.
I heard of the credibility, the efficiency and the quality of the University of Trento, as well as of its international approach, when I attended a University Guidance course organised by the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, which cooperates with the University of Trento. During my high-school years I participated in various editions of the Olympics of Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy. I organised a group of amateur astronomers open also to high-school students. Considering my passion for mathematics and physics, and a good attitude in problem solving, I decided to apply for the Collegio Bernardo Clesio and I won the selection.
I chose to attend Industrial engineering. I really like it and I made a lot of new friends. My dream is to apply my studies to enhance the everyday life of our society. I consider myself very lucky because I won a scholarship and I became a member of a great organization. I have the opportunity to live in a community and to interact with other pupils who are very motivated, like me.
I can say already from my short experience that my maturity is increasing day by day, also thanks to the numerous stimuli offered both by the University and by the Collegio. I recommend to all willing to invest on themselves to apply.
