De Biasi Raffaele

Surname: De Biasi

Name: Raffaele

Research topic: Lattice Structure modelling and optimization.

Tutors: Prof. Matteo Benedetti, Prof. Vigilio Fontanari

Curriculum Studiorum:

  • Raffaele De Biasi completed the Master Degree in Mechatronics Engineering at University of Trento (2017 – 2020) – Trento, Italy. He also achieved the Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering – University of Trento (2014 – 2017) – Trento, Italy.
  • Starting form 2020, he is attending the Doctoral School in Materials, Mechatronics and Systems Engineering in Trento.

Fields of research:

  • The research effort is focused on AM Titanium based lattice structure components. An efficient modelling technique based on the FE method is researched for these peculiar structures. The obtained method is used in the developement of an efficient optimization strategy able to improve the fatigue life of the components.

Future expectations:

  • Nowadays, lattice structures find a limited usage in the industrial field. The improvement of lattice structure modelling, understanding in mechanical properties and fatigue resistance will increase the possible applications of these structures with significant components lightweighting and bio-compatibility.
