Dr. Yuliya Zabyelina is currently an Assistant Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, United States. She came to John Jay from a Newton postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Edinburgh’s Law School funded by the Royal Society and British Academy. Dr. Zabyelina’s expertise lies in the area of international security, international politics, and global criminology with research interests in transnational crime, black markets, corruption, and criminal justice policy. In the course of her research, Dr. Zabyelina has been a Visiting Research Fellow at the European Institute for Crime and Control affiliated with the United Nations (HEUNI) (2013), Carnegie Endowment for Peace in Moscow (2010), and the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC) at George Mason University in Washington D.C. (2010). She has published in peer-reviewed academic journals and policy magazines.
