Francesco Nicoli

Francesco Nicoli is Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Amsterdam. His recent research focuses on the relationship between the Eurocrisis and the politicization of the European Union in public opinion, the electoral sphere, and institutional construction. He has published in leading journals such as the
Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Integration, and Comparative European Politics; together with Jonathan Zeitlin, he is currently editing a special issue for the Journal of European Public Policy; Toghether with Theresa Kuhn he is currently editing a special issue for the Journal of Common Market Studies.
Before joining the University of Amsterdam, Francesco obtained his Ph.D. Cum Laude at the University of Trento; his thesis won the prestigious Prize in Supranational Political Economy in 2018. He also conducted research in Brussels-based think tanks such as Bruegel, the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), and the European Policy Centre.
