Project-specific scholarships - 37th cycle
1. Scholarship sponsored by Aquafil SpA - The journey towards climate neutrality: technological and non-technological solutions, environmental, economic and social impacts for the synthetic fiber industry
This research project will aim at paving the ground for the development of a strategic plan for achieving a climate-neutral footprint of all Group's operational sites. The plan shall be aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, and the European Commission’s target for Climate neutrality by 2050.
The project is expected to investigate a pathway to achieve such a target by focusing on technological solutions that can generate positive environmental, economic, and social impacts. A techno-economic assessment of existing and innovative technologies that allow to reduce CO2 emissions, or to capture and convert carbon dioxide into products of commercial interest for the Group, should be included. Also, social impacts and potential benefits in terms of financial rating should be considered.
