Number of  3-year-grants: 8 

The scholarships are funded as follow:

  • n. 7 scholarships funded by the University of Trento;
  • n. 1 scholarship financed by the Fondazione Bruno Kessler on the topic Artificial Intelligence and Law.

The topic-specific grant is conditional to the execution of a particular research topic for which specific skills are required; these specific skills will be verified during the selection procedure (by the written examination and the oral examination).

Number of Supernumerary positions: 1 (positions reserved to candidates fulfilling the requirements stated by art. 20, par. 3 of the University Regulations regarding PhD Programmes).

Application’s deadline to participate in the selection: August 5, 2019, 4:00 p.m. (Italian time)

Candidates are warmly recommended to submit their application in advance. The University shall not be considered responsible for any dysfunctions due to technical problems and/or overload of the communication line and/or of the OS, for the loss of communication due to incorrect address details or late communication about possible change of address of the candidates, or for any other problem and delay due to third parties, unexpected cases or circumstances beyond one’s control.

Examination’s schedule:

Written exam: 17 September 2019, h. 1.30 p.m. (Room A)
Oral exam: 24 September 2019, starting from h. 2.00 p.m. and 25 September 2019, starting from h. 9.00 a.m. (Staff Room)
The exams will be held in the University of Trento – Faculty of Law (via Verdi 53, Trento - Italy).

Candidates who have passed the written examination are called at 2.00 pm on 24th September 2019 for the start of the oral examination.
The candidates who have expressed a preference for the topic-specific grant will be examined first.
Subsequently the other candidates will be examined in alphabetical order (the Committee will extract the letter on the day of the oral examination).

Enrolment's deadline for admitted candidates:

- If awarded a position with scholarship: 4th October 2019.

- If awarded a position without scholarship: 10th October 2019.
