TEACHING AND EXAMS
For more information on teaching and learning in the academic year 2020/2021 please visit the website of your Department or Centre and the specific page in homepage Unitrento.
All examinations and assessments at University Departments and Centres will take place in distance mode, except for laboratory assessments. Measures have been adopted to ensure that students with a disability or special needs can take examinations in distance mode; where such measures are not sufficient, these students can obtain an authorisation to sit examinations in a University building, in agreement with the Rector’s delegate for disability support (Rector's decree of 6 November 2020).
Graduations and doctoral thesis defences
Graduations and doctoral thesis defences take place online in a way to ensure impartiality and equality. The results will be published, as required by law. The presence of at least one member of the graduation committee in the department is no longer required (Rector's decree of 6 November 2020).
Curricular and extracurricular internships can take place in work from home mode or in mixed mode or face to face, based on the availability and needs of the host institution and in compliance with the training programme agreed by the host institution and university tutor. However, internships in work from home mode are preferred.
Based on the availability and needs of the host institution, internships in work from home mode that have been suspended can continue in the same mode or switch to mixed mode or to face to face mode. A Covid-19 health and safety protocol must be in place at host organizations to offer or continue internships in mixed or face to face mode. For more information, please read the FAQs in the download box.
Internships abroad can continue too in face to face or mixed mode, in compliance with the restrictions implemented in the country of the host organization. A Covid-19 health and safety protocol must be in place at host organizations to offer internships in mixed or face to face mode.
Where an internship cannot continue or start, the Director of the department or centre involved can adopt measures to identify alternative activities with which students can achieve their learning outcomes and earn the relevant university credits.
Face to face internships at the University can also continue or start, but must be authorised by the head of the department or centre, on the condition that interns remain at University premises only for the time necessary to perform their work (Rector's Decree of 6 November 2020).
In regions classified as red zones (where the spread of infections is high and there is a high risk of exposure to coronavirus), all face-to-face curricular and extracurricular internships that have already started or are about to start are either suspended or switched to work from home mode, in agreement with the host organization (Rector's Decree of 6 November 2020).
As an exception, in red zones, where the spread of infections is high and there is a high risk of exposure to coronavirus, curricular internships involving students enrolled in the last year of the course and about to graduate are allowed to take place; this is particularly the case for students who will use the graduation/final exam session that academic departments and centres have authorised to extend the academic year 2019/20. These internships can take place in mixed or face to face mode provided that host organizations have a Covid-19 health and safety protocol in place. Where an internship cannot continue or start, the Director of the department or centre involved will adopt measures to identify alternative activities with which students can achieve their learning outcomes and earn the relevant university credits. Face to face internships involving these students at the University can also continue or start, but must be authorised by the head of the department or centre, on the condition that interns remain at University premises only for the time necessary to perform their work (Rector's Decree of 25 March 2021).
