The Tridentum Debating Team, the first university debate association in Italy, was founded in 2021 by a group of students of the University of Trento who attended the "La Città del Dibattito" course and shared a passion for debate.
The members meet regularly to discuss various issues with different levels of complexity, both in Italian and English, following a defined format.
The themes are chosen by the students themselves and selected through our Telegram group.
In addition to this, we aim to organize and support debating competitions and events with students of the University.
About us
We come from different places and different backgrounds, sometimes have made very different experiences, and we have decided to come together in an association.
We believe that love for dialogue and friendly debate can unite people and help them overcome differences; this was the case for us when, in the early stages of our association (spring 2021), we managed to leave our cultural differences behind and find this common passion of ours, which evolved into an active community.
We believe that debating is the key ingredient of our modern democracies, because there is no freedom without discussion. Our goal is to stimulate the student and city community to the practice of debate, including by promoting methods for participatory decisions, to foster dialogue between different actors.
