The guidelines cut across all activities of the University of Trento and are implemented through the definition of the University’s strategic objectives.

The strategic objectives for 2017-2021, which must be perceived as a continuation of the Strategic plan 2014-2016, provided the framework for the selection of the strategic projects (namely, interdepartmental laboratories, and cross-sector actions and teaching projects), as well as for the orientation of the initiatives that each department and centre was invited to design and submit based on their different missions and discipline areas, dealing with their specific concerns and following their own development strategy.

The strategic objectives are grouped in four thematic areas that correspond to the four areas of the University’s vision: teaching and learning, research, civic development (third mission), and policies to encourage talent.
