The University of Trento works to protect research results through the application of suitable intellectual property rights and, supported by Hub Innovazione Trentino (HIT), works to develop them and increase their social and economic impact.
Industrial inventions, utility models and new plant varieties can be protected by patents, while creative intellectual works, including software and databases, can be protected by copyright.
The University of Trento owns several patents and welcomes expressions of interest to enter into licensing or assignment agreements regarding them.
