Study-related activities compatible with the PhD Programme

PhD students, subject to the approval of the PhD Programme Board, may perform, as an integral part of their educational program and without an increase in the doctoral grant, paid tutoring activities for graduate and undergraduate courses, and additional teaching activities, within the following limits:

• Maximum number of hours of tutoring and additional teaching activities that can be authorized for the whole three-year period: 120
• Maximum number of hours of additional teaching activities that can be authorized for each academic year: 40
• Maximum number of tutoring activities that can be authorized for each academic year (starting from a.y. 2023-24): 40

For this kind of activity, PhD students receive payment in accordance with Art. 1, par. 1, letter b) of the Legislative Decree no. 105 of 09/05/2003.

The approval of the PhD Board must be requested before applying to the Call for Selection, by filling in and sending to the PhD Secretariat (dn_sst [at] unitn.it) the attached form.

Notwithstanding the full-time commitment, the following activities may also be paid and are compatible with attendance of the PhD Programme, upon approval of the PhD Programme Board and after consulting the supervisor: 

1. professional practical traineeship; 
2. occasional external working activities, which give the opportunity to gain competences within the educational field of the PhD Programme.
