Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) - Seal of Excellence

Internal call for Expression of Interest 2026 (MSCA-PF SoE 2026)

The Action is promoted within the framework of the 2022-2027 University of Trento Strategic Plan, in particular of the Action aimed at strengthening the research quality of individual researchers and will offer a two-year research contract at UniTrento to one postdoc researcher who:

  • submitted a proposal to the Horizon Europe MSCA-PF call 2025 with UniTrento as host institution,
  • has been awarded the Seal of Excellence,
  • was scored not more than 2/100 below the panel cut off score for funding of the specific Evaluation Panel in the MSCA-PF call 2025. 

The two-year research contract will be aimed at implementing the research activity indicated in the submitted MSCA-PF project proposal.
The Seal of Excellence is a quality label awarded to proposals submitted to Horizon Europe – MSCA-PF which scored 85% or higher in the assessment and could not be funded due to a lack of budget.

Applications must be submitted within May 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon).

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship +1 (MSCA+1) Action

UniTrento Internal Call for Expression of Interest - 2027

The internal call, promoted within the framework of the 2022-2027 University of Trento Strategic Plan, in particular of the Action aimed at strengthening the research quality of individual researchers, will offer to UniTrento MSCA-PF fellows1 a one-year renewal of their current contract or “assegno” to continue the research activity and to further develop it in order to submit an ERC proposal with UniTrento as Host Institution.

The internal selection is addressed only to UniTrento MSCA-PF fellows who:

  • meet either the requirements set forth in the University Regulation n. 293 of 31 March 2025 “Regolamento per il reclutamento e la progressione di carriera di professori e di ricercatori e per il conferimento degli assegni di ricerca di cui all'art. 22, l. 240/2010” or the requirements set forth in the University Regulation n. 1161 of 30 September 2025 “Regolamento unico per il conferimento di contratti di ricerca, incarichi post-doc e incarichi di ricerca di cui agli artt. 22, 22 bis e 22 ter l. 240/2010”;
  • hold a MSCA-PF “assegno di ricerca” or research contract expiring from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

European Research Council (ERC) - Seal of Excellence

Internal Call for Expression of Interest 2025-26

Researchers who have submitted a project proposal to the Horizon Europe ERC – Starting Grant (StG), Consolidator Grant (CoG) or Advanced Grant (AdG) with UniTrento as host institution,   have been scored A at the end of step 2 of the evaluation and  could not be funded due to a lack of budget, may apply for a grant aimed at starting or implementing the research activity of the submitted ERC project proposal, in order to re-submit the ERC project proposal. 

Deadlines

  • For 2025, the deadline to apply is 1 October 2025 at noon. 

For 2025 internal call for Expression of Interest: PIs who applied to the ERC – Starting Grant (StG) call 2025, Consolidator Grant (CoG) call 2024 or Advanced Grant (AdG) call 2024 with UniTrento as host institution. 

  • For 2026, the deadline  to apply is 1 October 2026 at noon.
