Rising Inequalities and Their Impacts on Societies

The topic of the Summer School this year is "Rising Inequalities and Their Impacts on Societies".

The Program is coordinated by Professor Paolo Barbieri (University of Trento) and Professor Herman van de Werfhorst (University of Amsterdam) and involves a range of contributions by leading researchers in the field of income and societal inequalities – and their consequences.

The substantive program, delivered in the morning sessions, will be supplemented by methodological workshops given in the afternoon where students will discuss their working papers with leading researchers with established track records in relation to the use of cutting edge techniques in the area of impact evaluation and inequality.

The format seeks to combine the ECSR comparative advantage in relation to substantive sociological issues with the delivery of more structured complementary methodological training.
