Elif Cemre BEŞGÜR

Elif Cemre Beşgür is a PhD Student at the School of International Studies, University of Trento, Italy. Her doctoral project focuses on the politics of investment screening in Europe and analyses the institutional design of investment screening mechanisms across the EU member states. She received her BA in International Relations and the European Union with the highest honour at the Izmir University of Economics. She holds two master's degrees, an MA in European Studies at Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir (2018) and an MSc in European Integration magna cum laude (with great distinction) from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2020), where she was a Jean Monnet Scholar funded by the European Commission. During her graduate studies, she was an exchange student at the University of Genova and Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She has held different administrative and research positions in Turkey and Brussels, including working for non-governmental organisations. She has also published several articles and book chapters on EU-China relations, EU migration management, and differentiated integration.
