The 37th cycle of the PhD Programme in Cognitive Science will commence in the academic year 2021/2022 at the University of Trento.

Number of positions: 12
Number of 3-year-grants: 12 

The scholarships are funded as follow:

  • n. 6 grants financed by the University of Trento;
  • n. 2 grants financed by the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences within the Departments of Excellence Project - Law 232/2016
  • n. 4 grants financed by the Fondazione Bruno Kessler on the topics:
    1. Olfactory information extraction and analysis;
    2. Educational technologies;
    3. Game-based motivational technologies for personalized collaborative learning;
    4. Personal agents for healthy coping interventions in healthcare.

The topic-specific grants are conditional to the execution of a particular research topic for which specific skills are required. Those interested in a topic-specific grant should carefully check the topic and required skillset indicated on the web page

Number of Supernumerary positions: 1 position reserved to candidates fulfilling the requirements stated by art. 20, par. 3 of the University Regulations regarding PhD Programmes.

Candidates are warmly recommended to submit their application in advance. The University shall not be considered responsible for any dysfunctions due to technical problems and/or overload of the communication line and/or of the OS, for the loss of communication due to incorrect address details or late communication about possible change of address of the candidates, or for any other problem and delay due to third parties, unexpected cases or circumstances beyond one’s control.

Assessment of qualifications: starting from 6th September 2021 (carried out by the Commission without the presence of the candidates).The results are available in the Outcomes section.

Interview for shortlisted candidates: from 14 September to 17 September 2021.

Following the COVID-19 health emergency, as an extraordinary measure for carrying out oral tests in telematic mode

All interviews will be held exclusively in remote mode through the use of audio-video connection tools that will allow:
- the correct identification of the participants (through a webcam);
- the conduction of the oral test in a public form.
Further details will be defined by the Evaluation Committee and published in a prompt and timely way on this page.
