Tilburg is centrally located in the Brabant region between Rotterdam and Antwerp and the German Ruhr district. This region is internationally recognized as one of the best European regions for innovation and knowledge with a stimulating business environment.

The double degree programme focuses on political research, social policy and qualitative research at the University of Trento and trains professionals to translate societal problems into sociological research in order to evaluate current policy and develop new policies at Tilburg University.
Applications are welcome from UniTrento students enrolled in the first year of the Master's degree in Sociology and Social Research who:
- have earned at least 45 ECTS on the master's degree;
- have a weighted average of at least 25/30;
- have a B2 level of English.
These requirements will be evaluated during the application procedure, between August and early September.

The mobility lasts 2 semesters (60 credits) from September.
The study plan must be agreed and approved with both the supervisors.
It may be useful to take certain second-year exams during your first year (you can arrange this with your supervisor).
The courses are taught in English.
Students participating in the double degree programme are also required to pay tuition fees at TiU. UniTrento students with EU or EEA citizenship can be granted a scholarship or a fee waiver (read the attached document for more detailed information).
The thesis must be supervised by professors from the two institutions and written and discussed at TiU.
At the end of the programme, the students obtain:
a Master of Science in Sociology from TiU, and
a Laurea magistrale in Sociology and Social Research from UniTrento.
