The Double Degree is a joint study programme between two or more universities allowing you to obtain two or more qualifications which are recognised in different countries.
An initial period of study at UniTrento is followed by a period of between 1 to 4 semesters abroad at a partner university, depending on the agreements.
The study path for a double degree is certainly more demanding, but is also more satisfying and guarantees tangible results in the employment market.
The program is aimed at students enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree courses.
In Italy and abroad, a double degree always has more value. A glance at the job market confirms that companies and organisations are always on the lookout for recruits with an international outlook and an open mind, who are able to work in multicultural teams and face ever-changing global challenges.
The motivations that most often push our students to make this choice are a need to diversify their academic career, the desire to master a foreign language and a wish to get to know a different country and culture.
The selection is through a call issued once a year, usually in October, with the deadline in December, on the web page 'open calls'.
Selection criteria include:
- Knowledge of a foreign language (usually certified by taking a test at the university language centre (CLA) or through international certification).
- Candidates who do not have an international certificate among those listed in the Useful Links list can take a test at the UniTrento Language Centre (CLA). Instructions for signing up for a language test can be found in the call;
- Your curriculum
- An interview to assess your motivation.

Students who are selected will continue to pay their tuition fees to UniTrento and not to the partner university (with the exception of some destinations, such as the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom).
Amount per semester for academic year 2025/2026
The amount of the scholarship varies depending on the destination and the financial situation of the participants.
For the 27 countries of the European Union and the countries belonging to EFTA/EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland)
- 2.500 euro with an ISEE (means test) of more than 25.000 euro;
- 3.750 euro with an ISEE (means test) of less than or equal to 25.000 euro.
Outside Europe
- 3.500 euro with an ISEE (means test) of more than 25.000 euro;
- 4.750 euro with an ISEE (means test) of less than or equal to 25.000 euro.
The scholarship is a contribution to travel and living expenses abroad that the participants will have to bear and will be paid only in the case of a physical exchange, in a single instalment at the start of each semester of the exchange.
