Applications are welcome from:
- students from other universities with an academic background in disciplines such as social sciences, law, humanities;
- UPF students who have passed at least 5 exams in their first year at UPF, one of which must be methodological, statistical or quantitative analysis;
with a B2 level of English.
Candidates can apply for the two-year (120 credits) Master's programme in Sociology and Social Research of the Department of Sociology and Social Research at UniTrento.
External students can start the programme either in Trento or in Barcelona.
However, in order to graduate from the double degree programme from UniTN and UPF, you have to satisfy a number of requirements.
By the end of your mobility at UniTrento you are required to:
- earn at least 60 credits while at UniTrento;
- earn at least 40 credits while at UPF;
- earn 20 additional credits for thesis work either at UniTrento or at UPF.
Courses are taught in English.
Students participating in the programme pay their tuition fees at UPF when at UPF and at UniTrento when are at UniTrento (in Trento, 750,00 euro per semester plus 3 tax stamps of 16 euro each for administrative procedures).
The final thesis shall be co-supervised by professors of both institutions and is normally discussed where you spend the second year of your studies.
The thesis committee should include a member from the partner institution.
At the end of the programme, the students obtain:
- a Research Master in Sociology and Demography (normally awarded in 1 year - 60 ECTS), from UPF; and
- a Laurea magistrale (Master's Degree) in Sociology and Social Research from UniTrento, normally awarded in 2 years.
