Join an international team and solve real-life challenges
Testo

One of the pillars of ECIU University is challenge-based learning, an educational approach in which students, faculty, research staff, business people and public organizations join forces to solve real problems.

Adopting this approach, ECIU gives students two learning opportunities: the challenges, in which several teams face each other to study a problem and propose a solution, and the micro-modules, which are courses focused on topics that are useful for solving the challenges.

At the end of challenges and micro-modules, the participants receive micro-credentials that certify the learning and the skills or credits acquired.
In the following video you can listen to the testimonials of those who have already participated, and you can take a look at the new challenges on the dedicated website.

Participation is open to students from the 13 partner universities of ECIU who have already acquired a number of credits (depending on the specific requirements of the challenge) and have a B2 level of English.

Take advantage of these opportunities to:

  • acquire new skills and contribute to real social change,
  • broaden your network of relationships by working with other students, faculty, experts, business people and organizations from different countries and backgrounds,
  • gain experience in a multicultural environment and learn new skills by sharing practices and ideas, solving real problems and working in a team.

UniTrento also provides funds to participate in these initiatives: consult the  dedicated page and fill in the application at least one month before the start of the challenge or micromodule.

  • browse the challenges available on the challenge platform; challenges are proposed by a city, a region, a company or a public body, and can last from a few days to a whole semester;
  • register with the platform and sign up to a challenge; once your application has been approved, you will join an international, multidisciplinary team with other students and a 'teamcher', who is tasked with facilitating communication;
  • your team will work with the organization or company that launched the challenge, examining the problem until you come up with a solution;
  • while you examine the problem, you can take micro-modules that will help you acquire skills and knowledge tha you need to solve the challenge;
  • at the end of the challenge you will receive a Certificate of Participation and a Challenge Supplement describing the work you have done in more detail. UniTrento can award credits to recognize participation in challenges and micro-modules, based on the different teaching regulations and with the positive opinion of course coordinators.
