The StudioSì Fund is aimed especially at students of the so-called STEM area - science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The fund is managed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) on behalf of the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) through financial intermediaries that students are free to contact.
The funding is intended in particular for students residing in the 8 regions that are part of the geographical target of the national operational programme (PON) Research and Innovation (Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily), who attend or have been admitted to tertiary education courses in Italy or abroad, and for students not residing in these regions who attend or have been admitted to tertiary education courses in the universities of these regions.
Each loan, which is capped at a maximum of 50,000 euros, is for an amount that considers the applicant's tuition fees and living expenses. The loan has no interest rates and does not require any personal or third-party guarantees, with a repayment plan of 20 years maximum.
The provision of loans ended on 30 June 2023 and the beneficiaries are required to complete their studies by 31 December 2025.
The beneficiaries must obtain their degree or qualification by that date.
