After running a pilot project named “'Asylum Seekers at the University” (2016-2021), the University of Trento renewed its commitment towards asylum-seekers and refugees by setting up FUTURA (“University Education for Refugees and Asylum-Seekers”).
Each year five asylum-seeking or refugee students living in Italy can be admitted through the FUTURA project following a two-stage selection process.
Successful candidates have access to a Foundation Year, during which they can attend single courses and acquire language and cultural skills that may be useful to pass admission tests and continue their university studies.
In the second year of the project, successful candidates can enroll in one of the bachelor's, master's or single-cycle degree programs offered by the University.
